By this time, you might wonder what Dr. Eric has done for the world. Believe me, my inventions and ideas pervade today's world. As always, however, my ideas are either too advanced, or too ridiculed by the "scientific community" for my contributions to become well known. One example is that of video discs. These were once the wave of the future, and I created them! I was poised to establish a whole new industry. The whole world would have wanted my video discs! However, the establishment wanted tapes! TAPES! TAPES! They knew that if discs attained the popularity they deserved, Doctor Eric would finally get the reputation he deserved! They foisted tapes upon the public. I was not yet disillusioned with home video technology. I then presented the world with Betamax tapes. Smaller, and with better quality, I was sure that this time Doctor Eric would have the last laugh. However, once again I was thwarted by the established scientific world, which was in league with the home entertaiment industry in an attempt to silence me. They threw VHS, a larger and less quality item out to the public, and, through too many schemes to recount, banished the better Beta tapes from the public mind.
